About Mogadishu Institute of Health

The Mogadishu Institute of Health (MIH) is a community-based, non-profit institute in Mogadishu, Somalia, committed to advancing health through research, training, innovation, and capacity development. MIH produces practical, locally relevant evidence to inform policy, strengthen health systems, and improve the quality of health services. The institute supports national health priorities by building the skills of health professionals, promoting evidence-based practice, and fostering collaboration with academic, governmental, and development partners. Through its work, MIH aims to connect research with real-world action and contribute to sustainable health improvement. Guided by scientific excellence and community needs, MIH seeks to address Somalia’s pressing health challenges, improve the well-being of people and communities across the country, and support a stronger national evidence culture in the health sector.
